 From "Cassettes2CDs" to "Reclaim Media"

When the company started the back in 2002, converting cassettes to CDs was all we did.

Once we started doing records, the old name "Cassettes2CDs" was selling us short. People didn't think we did records, even though we did (and quite well, too). It didn't suggest that we also convert to MP3s, either. It just didn't make sense anymore.

The new name also prepares us for future growth. By the end of 2009, we hope to have added both 78s and reel-to-reel (and eventually Minidiscs, if Kurt gets his way) to our selection of high-quality digitization abilities.

Plus, "Cassettes2CDs" is a pain in the butt to spell out to people on the phone, and it's a tongue-twister to boot. If you had to choose which way to answer the phone a hundred times a day:

1: "Cassettes2CDs, this is Ryan, how can I help you?"
or
2: "Reclaim Media, this is Ryan, how can I help you?"

... the choice is pretty obvious. (Trust us.)

Back to home.
